It's ok nothing to go crazy about. Nice location, pleasant atmosphere, reasonably priced, food could be better.
Food was delicious & the people are extremely friendly, they explained the entire menu to us in english. Fyi, the ananas cocktail is 10/10.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!👍
Had an amazing time in this restaurant, it's a wee piece of Spain in a lovely village called Macaresse.
The staff is very nice and friendly, I was delighted seeing how the chef is making the paella. We ended up having dinner there 4 nights in a row.
Food is very good and not pricey at all!
TOP!
For the paella I expected more after reading the reviews. The tortilla was not good, I don't recommend it. I really liked the pulpo a la gallega and the bacala croquettes. I also recommend the cutting board. Let's say that it fits the bill for a fusion restaurant, but it's not Spanish. We spent €40 each on sangria (we didn't take wine). I don't know if I would go back for the food, but the nice atmosphere and the very friendly staff!
This is my first time trying this restaurant. We were a nice group, so much so that we ended up spending 200 euros on paella alone... The explanation of the different cooking methods is fine, the caramelisation is fine, but objectively the rice was burnt. The dessert and some of the 'starters' we chose were good but, overall, too expensive.
The location is beautiful. Service was slow, maybe we caught a busy evening?
This restaurant is located inside Borgo San Giorgio in Maccarese, in a delightful setting and with an atmosphere suspended in time. We dined outdoors, under the moon, on essential but functional wooden tables, like a tavern. For an appetizer we ordered a platter with different types of Pata Negra, always exceptional, and a sample of prawns wrapped in crunchy filaments, really good. Then we dived straight into the paella, tasty, well cooked and plentiful: if the photos make your mouth water, on the palate the result is a hundred times better. The restaurant is run by a young Spaniard who brought this typical dish to Italy while preserving its original characteristics. Even though the place was packed, we were served in normal time. The waiters are all young and smart. Ultimately, a place not to be missed, to spend an evening with excellent food in a pleasant Spanish atmosphere.
I live in the area but I had never had the opportunity to dine there. Obviously a beautiful, convivial environment, almost shared with other rooms and tables. Enviable setting of the Maccarese Castle and Borgo Antico. Good paella with very fresh fish but perhaps a little salty.
As for the pulpo, very good. Courteous and approachable service. Advised.
